Brown the sausage
Slice the sausage links into 3/4-inch pieces. Cook in a large skillet over medium heat until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Pull it out and set aside, leave the drippings.

Get the veggies going
Slice the peppers into thin strips and the onion into thin wedges. Add the butter and olive oil to the same skillet over medium heat. Once the butter's melted, toss in the peppers and onion. Cook and stir until they start to soften, 4-5 minutes.

Stir in the chicken broth, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Cover and simmer until the vegetables are crisp-tender, about 6-8 minutes, stirring once or twice.

Chop the plum tomatoes and add them to the skillet along with the parsley. Stir in the sausage and heat through for 2-3 minutes. Serve straight out of the pan.
