Season and set up
Pat the salmon fillets dry and season all sides with the salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Set aside. Move your oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler. Middle rack, not the top - up high the sugary sauce will scorch.
- 2
Build the sauce
In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the minced garlic, honey, water, soy sauce, sriracha, and lemon juice. Cook about 30 seconds, just until it's hot and combined.
- 3
Cook the salmon
Lay the salmon in the pan, skin side down if it has skin. Cook 3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the top every so often to keep it glazed.
- 4
Broil and finish
Move the skillet under the broiler for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once halfway through, until the salmon is caramelized on top and cooked to your liking. Spoon the pan sauce over before serving.
