Boil the Water
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.

Prep the Broccoli
While you wait, trim the broccoli stems and cut the florets into bite-sized pieces.

Cook Pasta and Broccoli Together
Add the rotini and boil on high for 4 minutes. Add the broccoli, cover, and cook for 3 more minutes at a rolling boil.

Turn off the heat and drain. Return to the pot. Stir in the spinach and lemon zest. Let sit 2 minutes so the spinach wilts.

In a small pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes and cook 1 minute until fragrant. Pull off the heat and stir in 2-3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.
