Mix the marinade
In a big bowl, whisk together the canola oil, soy sauce, honey, white vinegar, ground ginger and garlic powder. Cut the sirloin into 1-inch cubes, toss them in, and turn to coat everything. Cover and park it in the fridge for 8 hours or overnight — this marinade does all the tenderizing work for you.

Build your skewers
Grab 12 metal skewers (or wooden ones soaked in water for 30 minutes). Cut the onions into wedges, the peppers into 1-inch pieces, and the squash into 1/2-inch slices. Alternately thread the beef, whole mushrooms and veggies onto the skewers. Toss whatever marinade is left — it did its job.

Fire up the grill
Grill the kabobs covered over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef hits the doneness you like. Pull them off and serve over hot cooked rice if you want to make it a full plate.
