Load up the blender
Add 1 cup freshly shredded carrots (about 2 medium, peeled), the frozen sliced banana, almond milk, cottage cheese, protein powder, oats, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg. Freshly shredded carrots blend way smoother than the dry pre-shredded bags, so grate your own if you can. Toss in a scoop of ice if you want it frosty and thick.
- 2
Blend it smooth
Blend on high for a full minute until totally creamy. Carrots take a little longer to break down than fruit, so don't rush it — you want zero grit, just silky orange smoothie.
- 3
Dial in the texture
Too thick? Splash in a little more milk. Want it thicker and colder? Add a few more ice cubes and blend again until it's exactly how you like it.
- 4
Pour and sip
Pour into two glasses and drink it right away while it's cold and creamy. A little extra cinnamon on top is never a bad idea.
