Remove the skin
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Use your thumb to loosen the skin from each drumstick, then grip it with a dry paper towel and pull it off. This gives the breading something to stick to.
- 2
Set up your breading station
Place the flour in a shallow bowl. In a second bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until combined. In a large ziplock bag, combine the bread crumbs, salt, paprika, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, and pepper.
- 3
Bread the drumsticks
Dredge each drumstick in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it in the egg mixture to coat, then drop it into the ziplock bag. Repeat with all the drumsticks, then seal the bag and shake until they're all evenly coated in the seasoned crumbs.
- 4
Bake
Melt the butter and pour it into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer and turn each one to coat the bottom in butter. Bake for 25 minutes, flip each drumstick, then bake another 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 170°F).
