Get things going
Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 13x9-inch baking dish. Bring a big pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spiral pasta to just al dente, then drain it. You want a little bite left in the noodles so they don't turn mushy in the oven.
- 2
Brown the beef
While the pasta cooks, chop the onion. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion together until the meat is no longer pink and the onion has softened, 7 to 9 minutes. Drain off any grease.
- 3
Build the sauce
Stir the spaghetti sauce into the skillet with the beef, then fold in the drained pasta until every noodle is coated in that hearty red sauce.
- 4
Layer it up
Spread the pasta mixture into your greased baking dish. Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the top, then arrange the pepperoni slices across the cheese so every serving gets a few.
- 5
Bake
Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pepperoni edges are just starting to crisp. Let it rest 5 minutes before scooping so it holds together.
