Notes & Tips
Equal parts — that's it. 1 oz Campari, 1 oz gin, 1 oz sweet vermouth. The ratio is the recipe. Campari is non-negotiable; swap it out and it's just not a Negroni. London dry gin (Tanqueray, Beefeater) keeps things classic. A good sweet vermouth makes a real difference — Dolin Rouge or Carpano Antico are worth the extra dollar. Make it a Boulevardier by swapping gin for bourbon. Mocktail swap: use a non-alcoholic bitter aperitif (Crodino or Wilfred's) + NA gin + a splash of grape juice to mimic the vermouth sweetness.
