Chill your glass
Pop your martini glass in the freezer for at least 10-20 minutes before you start. A cold glass keeps the drink colder longer — worth the wait.
- 2
Brew and cool the espresso
Pull a shot of espresso and let it cool to room temperature (or stick it in the freezer for a few minutes). If you don't have an espresso machine, cold brew concentrate works great too.

Shake everything
Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Fill it with ice, then shake hard — really hard — for about 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty. This is what creates that gorgeous foam on top.
- 4
Strain and serve
Immediately strain into your chilled martini glass — pour swiftly so the foam lands on top. Garnish with 3 coffee beans (they represent health, wealth, and happiness, apparently). Serve right away.
