Instructions
  1. 1

    Dissolve the sugar

In a large pitcher, stir the sugar into the brandy until it fully dissolves. Do this first, before anything else goes in — sugar will not dissolve in cold wine, and nobody wants a gritty layer at the bottom of the pitcher.

  1. 2

    Add the fruit

Peel and slice the peaches, slice the strawberries, and cut the lemon and lime into thin rounds. Add all of it to the pitcher. Frozen peaches and strawberries work great here — just thaw them first. Use slightly firm fruit if you can, since soft fruit turns to mush after an hour in wine.

  2. 3

    Pour the wine

Add the chilled dry white wine and stir gently to combine. Something crisp and cheap is perfect — pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, or a dry white blend. Save the good bottle for drinking straight.

  3. 4

    Chill if you have time

You can serve immediately, but an hour in the fridge lets the fruit and wine get friendly. Two hours is even better.

  4. 5

    Top and serve

Right before serving, pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda and stir once. Serve over plenty of ice and spoon some fruit into each glass.
