Instructions
- 1
Load up the glass
Fill a highball glass all the way with ice. Cold glass, cold drink — don't skimp.
- 2
Pour it
Add the vodka, then the cranberry juice. Stick to roughly a 2-to-1 juice-to-vodka ratio and you'll nail it every time. Give it a quick stir to bring it together.

Finish with lime
Cut a wedge from the lime, squeeze it over the top, and drop it in. That little hit of acid is what keeps it from tasting flat. Serve ice cold.

Notes & Tips
This is the easy one — bright, tart, and basically impossible to mess up. Use real cranberry juice, not the sugary "cocktail" stuff, if you want it to taste like a grown-up drink. Mocktail swap: skip the vodka, fill the glass with cranberry juice, add a splash of soda water and extra lime, and you've got a Virgin Cape Codder that nobody at the party will side-eye. Want it citrusy? Add a splash of orange juice to make it a Madras.
